Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the GridGrind platform, including our mobile application and website (gridgrind.app), operated by GridGrind ("we", "our", or "us"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use GridGrind. Users under 18 must have a parent or guardian linked to their account to access payout features. By using the platform, you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate.

2. User Roles

GridGrind supports five user roles: Athlete, Coach, Recruiter, Parent, and Fan. Each role carries specific permissions and responsibilities:

• Athletes - may submit challenge videos, upload game film, build recruiting profiles, and earn through approved monetization channels
• Coaches - must complete verification (certification or background check) before posting challenges or reviewing submissions. Coaches agree to provide honest, professional feedback.
• Recruiters - access athlete profiles for legitimate recruiting purposes only. Misuse of athlete data is prohibited.
• Parents - manage their athlete's account, control communication settings, and oversee wallet and payout requests
• Fans - may hype athletes, view content, and participate in the referral program

3. Subscriptions and Billing

• Paid plans (Pro $9.99/mo, Elite $24.99/mo, Premium Coach $49.99/mo) are billed monthly and renew automatically
• You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period - no prorated refunds
• GridGrind reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days notice
• All payments are processed by Stripe. GridGrind does not store payment card data.
• App Store purchases are subject to Apple's payment and refund policies

4. Referral Program

• All users (athletes, coaches, parents, fans) may participate in the referral program
• Coaches and trainers (including those with recruiter access enabled) may only refer other coaches, trainers, and fans. Coaches and trainers may not refer parents or athletes to avoid any appearance of improper inducement under NCAA or applicable eligibility rules. Referral commissions on a referred fan stop automatically if that fan converts to an athlete account.
• Referral earnings are credited to your GridGrind Wallet at the rates shown in the app at time of conversion
• GridGrind reserves the right to modify or discontinue the referral program at any time
• Abuse of the referral system (self-referral, fraudulent accounts) will result in account termination and forfeiture of earnings

5. Earnings and Payouts

• Athletes, coaches, and parents earn through platform-supported channels (hype, reel sales, coaching sessions, referrals)
• GridGrind retains a platform fee on transactions as disclosed in the app
• Athletes keep 80% of earnings from hype and highlight reel sales
• Payouts are processed through Stripe Express. Athletes under 18 require a linked parent or guardian to initiate a payout.
• Earnings accumulated during beta carry over to public launch
• GridGrind is not responsible for tax obligations arising from your earnings. You are solely responsible for reporting income.

6. Content and Video Submissions

• By uploading content to GridGrind, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote that content within the platform
• You retain ownership of your content
• You may not upload content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, or that infringes on the intellectual property of others
• Challenge submissions must be authentic footage of the user named in the account
• GridGrind reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms

7. Coach Verification and Standards

All coaches must complete identity verification and provide either a coaching certification or pass a background check before accessing coach features. GridGrind does not guarantee the credentials of any coach beyond what was verified at the time of onboarding. Athletes and parents are encouraged to do their own due diligence when booking paid sessions.

8. Hype (Tips)

The hype feature allows fans, family, and coaches to send funds directly to an athlete's wallet. All hype transactions are final and non-refundable. GridGrind's hype match (up to the applicable monthly cap for Pro and Elite fans) is a platform benefit and may be adjusted or discontinued at any time.

9. Live Streams

Athletes on any plan may conduct live streams through GridGrind. All live content is subject to our community guidelines. GridGrind may terminate a live stream that violates these guidelines without notice. Recorded streams may be retained and reviewed for safety purposes.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Create fake accounts or impersonate other users
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Attempt to manipulate leaderboard rankings through fraudulent submissions
• Solicit athletes or parents outside the platform for services discovered through GridGrind
• Scrape, copy, or republish platform content without written permission
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose

11. Termination

GridGrind may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your access to the platform ceases and any pending earnings may be forfeited depending on the nature of the violation. You may appeal a termination by contacting support@gridgrind.app.

12. Disclaimers

GridGrind is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that use of the platform will result in recruiting exposure, coach contact, or college placement. Coach feedback is the opinion of the individual coach and does not constitute professional athletic assessment.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GridGrind shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of earnings, data loss, or missed recruiting opportunities.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Broward County, Florida.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via push notification or email. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
